Excess of anything is detrimental for health, and some seemingly innocuous habits can cost us our good health and peace of mind. Here are some things you should be careful of not indulging in too much:
Having excessive caffeine:
While caffeine keeps you sharp and awake, and may have an overall positive impact on your mood, consuming too much caffeine is a common bladder irritant and diuretic. Research has shown that caffeine is linked with high urinary urgency and frequency among females, causing their quality of life to worsen significantly. It is best to limit your caffeine intake, and keep it to a minimum amount. If you can, you should completely cut off caffeine if you do not have access to a restroom.
Smooching with your furry baby:
Kissing your dog is perhaps the most affectionate you feel in your day, and you can't get enough of their sloppy, wet kisses on your face, as they jump up and down in excitement whenever you return to home from work. But medically, it is not the best practice to let your dog kiss you. According to health experts, getting kisses from your dog can lead to some serious health issues, such as the instance when a woman developed a severe bacterial infection after her pooch kissed her.
As she fell ill and the doctors ran some tests on her, the results showed that her kidneys were failing, and the blood tests revealed she had been infected with Capnocytophaga canimorsus, a kind of bacteria found in the mouths of cats and dogs. Pet owners, specifically, those in an old age and have weaker immune systems, should be very careful in their display of affection with their pets.
Skipping meals
Skipping the first meal of the day is a big no-no in the health and wellness community, where skipping on breakfast can lead to a number of health issues like high blood pressure, higher levels of cholesterol and an elevated risk of getting heart diseases.
